New 2009 BMW X6

After jolting the auto world last year with the revolutionary design, BMW keeps consumers and the competition on edge with the 2009 X6 Sports Activity Coupe (SAC).

BMW is combining the looks and DNA of their X5 Sports Activity Vehicle and the BMW X model coupes to bring you the first-ever X6 (SAC). This combination of power, cutting edge technology and sleek design is truly unique. When considering the X6, there are two different styles - the xDrive50i and the xDrive35i. If power is what you’re looking for, then the xDrive50i is the SAC for you. It features a 4.4-liter, 400-horsepower V-8 twin-turbo engine that takes you from zero to 60mph in 5.2 seconds. The xDrive35i has a 3.0-liter, 300-horsepower V-6 twin-turbo engine that is lighter and more fuel efficient, while remaining powerful.

The X6 features the all-new Dynamic Performance Control (DPC). The DPC distributes power to the rear wheels, improving agility, traction and stability no matter what the terrain may be. This translates to premium handling with increased safety in all conditions. Other standard features include xDrive (all-wheel-drive), Dynamic Stability Control and Integrated Chassis Management.

The interior of the X6 is luxurious and spacious. It seats four with a center console separating the two rear seats. As for cargo space, there is plenty. The X6 boasts 25.6 cubic feet with the rear seats erect and 59.7 cubic feet with the seats folded. That’s enough room to fit four full-sized golf bags and four passengers. Because the X6 is a crossover, one gets the advantage of sitting higher off of the ground, while maintaining the smooth handling of a coupe. The steering wheel has several multifunction buttons that can operate phone and audio systems without the slightest distraction. One glaring omission is the lack of grab handles on both front and rear seats.

New additions include a power tailgate in the Premium Package, heated rear seats in the Cold Weather Package; and a luxurious leather-wrapped dash, included with optional Nappa Leather upholstery. The X6 competes with the Porsche Cayenne and the Mercedes-Benz M-Class.

The 2009 BMW X6 is not only a new breed of vehicle, but the embodiment of style, power and ingenuity.
